The Corners Church ONE CHALLENGE. What is it?
The leadership of The Corners is committed to becoming a debt free church. Our aim is to aggressively begin paying down our debt. The ONE CHALLENGE is our church’s initiative to accelerate becoming a debt free church, giving our church the resources to fund ministries more effectively, to further building improvements, and allow expansion in areas that are needed.
Why is it called the ONE CHALLENGE? Our goal is simple:
ONE Church, ONE Million, ONE Year
After months of prayer by the church leaders, we felt God encouraging us to be bold with our ONE CHALLENGE. Our goal is to raise one million dollars in one year, as one church.
How will the money from the ONE CHALLENGE be used?
There are three parts to the ONE CHALLENGE:
Part 1 - The first $600,000 will go directly to pay off our short term debt. This debt was incurred during the construction of our new facility and was the result of building contractor problems out of our control. By paying off this short term debt, we will free up over $13,000 per month in our monthly cash flow budget.
Part 2 - The next $200,000 received will go towards required building repairs and to complete areas of the facility that were not properly addressed by our building contractor. We feel if these repairs aren’t addressed there could be higher repair costs in the future and we are committed to not have to go into any additional debt for such repairs.
Part 3 - The remaining $200,000 (and any funds above $1 million) will go directly towards reducing our long term building debt. Although we are blessed to have a very low interest rate on our building loan, we are focused on aggressively eliminating this debt also.

the ONE challenge Update:
We have received pledges to date totaling $430,000.00 towards our $1,000,000.00 goal. We have receipts to date totaling $171,160.00. These funds have been applied towards debt and four of our debts have been paid off. We are working on our fifth.
